I was at the Chat a while ago, where the heck were you? There aren't too many that use it. What you can do is check out the front page of the forum on the bottom there's a heading that reads "What's Going On". Under the "Members Online" section is the Chat section. Sometimes someone appears in that section that is actually there, and sometimes they aren't. Don't ask me why, that's just the way it is. Their name may be there and they had to go to the can, and can't get back to answer, right away, so just be patient, they may be constipated.
Anyway, what you can do is click on the Chat, and just park yourself there so that maybe it will show on the front page. So you aren't just twiddling your thumbs, go up to "File" at the top of the browser page and click that and then "New Tab". The Chat will appear on the upper Task Bar of your browser. If your speakers are on, you will hear when someone enters the Chat room. In the meantime, you reclick on the forum and you then can sift through all the subjects without leaving the Chatroom. It's like magic. You're in two places at once. That way you aren't just stuck in one place. Cool.
In you're doing it that way, your screename appears in the Chatroom and those that have the time may enter to say hi. So, don't get all riled up that nobody goes there, they do. If there is a particular member you want to chat with, PM them and make arrangements to meet at a certain time, kinda like a phone call with playing tag until you catch 'em.
Here's the deal, if I see ya there, and if I have time, I'll yak at ya.
Howdy Jerr! It's all about timing. LOML still chats a bit and there always seems to be few on when she is chatting. I've not been there in a while. Pat is on almost daily, Stan most evenings, Eric is on more than even he knows, Thom is somewhat harder to catch. There are a few others that I've noticed using the chat that you used to chat with, it just a matter of timing.
Jeremy,
Mark is right I still chat a bit now and then but sometimes I don't for a couple of days because I am working nights and sleep when the youngest goes down for a nap. But on my days off I try and chat with everyone. And it is a matter of timing.
