We have one German Shepherd in a splint on her front leg. For the cost of the splint ($85), not including installation, it is a POS. She broke it the second day wearing it. So, like something MacGyver would come up with, I scrounged up a 9" paint roller cover that had a plastic core. I split it lengthwise, and hot glued into it what was left of the old foot piece (little cup to protect toes).
Bandaged it on her leg, and voila!!! It is actually more substantial than the $85 one. Took her to the Vet yesterday to check if it was too tight, and man o man was he impressed. He called in the other Vet on duty just to see it. To top all this off I'm up on my braniac points with LOML.
