My wife and I go to Monterey/Carmel, Calif to visit my step-sister and her family every year. I'm in charge of bringing cookies.

Not going anywhere. My folks live here and most of my Dad's family comes to town for Thanksgiving. My in-laws will be here this year also.

Since we will have baby sitters I am thinking shop time!

Big family gathering. 3 of 5 children and 6 or 8 grandchildren will start arriving Saturday evening. Going to try turkey deep frying for the first time!

We'll be hosting the dinner on Thursday for about 13, our kids, grandkids, etc. Have had as many as 26 in past years, but no relatives of LOL this year. Always a fun time, hectic, but fun. Always glad to see them leave. Those grandkids have an awful lot of energy!!

The family's coming to our house this year, which means the house has to be mother-in-law clean, two steps above surgical suite clean.

My personal plans are to eat until I pop, then hide in the shop for a couple of hours....

Oh, and play with my assorted nieces and nephews. Maybe I'll give 'em power tools to play with

It's the 4th year in a row to host Thanksgiving dinner at my house. My in-laws all live in the same town that LOML and I do, and one of her grandmothers would never be willing to go to my parents for a dinner, so we get to host so that we can be with both families. Of course, we also have the dining room table that seats 12 comfotbably, 14 in a pinch. And it could hold another leaf or two if our dining room was longer than 15 feet.

The rest of the weekend, I'll be doing some kind of work on the house, I suspect. Nothing big like last year (tearing out and replacing some kitchen cabinets and installing a dishwasher, sink...) Possibly working on replacing some antiquated wiring.
