    Oh man, that really bites.

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

The alligator and another smaller one were later trapped and brought to All American Gator in Pembroke Park.

Local 10 learned the larger alligator was well known on the reservation and employees had nicknamed it Poncho.

If an alligator either digests or kills a person it's a state law through Florida Fish and Wildlife that it be destroyed, so the alligator will be put in an incinerator or be buried, Tongen reported.
So an animal is killed for what it is supposed to do as nature intended it (or as God made it)? Who makes these laws ?

If I visit the zoo, jump over the fence and cross the moat into the Lion's den, it would very naturally injure/kill me. And for that, the Lion should be killed ? Atrocious!!!

Well you really shouldn't run from the police anywhere. It's just in Florida you get eaten by alligators.

Here in Florida, we call that instant justice for the criminal. After all, the alligator was hangin' around the warning sign. Can't really give the guy a nomination for the Darwin award, because here in Florida his family will probably sue the police agencies for chasing him. As we see on TV, when those fleeing were asked by the police why they were runnin', they respond "Because you were chasin' me".

Well IMO he should have known that there are gators and things like that in Florida. Heck I live in Washington State and KNOW that.

The gator is not euthanized as punishment. A wild gator is born with two things: 1) A distaste for human flesh, and 2) An instinctual fear of people. After such an attack, it may lose both, and thus becomes even more dangerous to people in the future. And the zoos are already full of gators without such tastes. There's no good answer, so it's just bad luck for the gator, unfortunately.
