What do you wish you were good at?

I have been wondering about this since I read this post.
Unrealistic wish: EVERYTHING!
Realistic wish: I wish I was good at being happy with where I am and my capabilities. I really demand more of myself then I am capable of, and am my own worst critic. I would be a happier person, if I met the realistic wish. She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.Comment

Spelling, speaking a second language and the piano are some of my tops. It is a loaded question as I can do a lot of things to some degree but have room for improvement on everything.spellling champion Lexington region 1982Comment

Very difficult for me to accept this - but i have finally realized I'd have been happier (and more successful at work) if I was good at lying / obfuscating, or at least, displaying polite party-manners at all times.
While I am reasonably nice and polite generally, I find it tough to fall in line when it's expected of me, eg my boss says "dunno how much help I can be during that database install", I found others saying "of course you would be critical there/ we would have better direction/ we need somebody to make decisions", while I was studiously digging deep into my pocket looking for a non-existing piece of paper
; at home, LOML says "I love that dish your mom cooks" and I barely manage to keep my mouth shut (as I remember what she'd said about the same mom's cooking the last time we had a spat
).
The reason I'd this epiphany last evening is that I realized the most successful (monetarily) of my friends are those who are masters of such apple-polishing; and of course, many of them are also into sales...
But to get away from that gloomy thought - I also wish I could play some instrument, just one tune. Even a harmonica would be good. If nothing else, it'd impress my girls
. But I have tried...
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

There is something that I'd like to be a lot better at than I am at present, or - come to that - than I've ever been, but I just can't seem to make even the slightest improvement, no matter how hard I try. It's really frustrating because I know it's an irritating trait for others and to a degree it annoys me as well, so that makes the lack of progress a double-whammy, if you see what I mean? It's not as though it would be too difficult, it certainly wouldn't be time-consuming, it might even be beneficial, but although I try again and again, I'm apparently cursed in not being able to achieve brevity.
