    Gin and ?

When you are out of tonic, gin + ginger ale is much better than gin + mountain dew. DAMIK.

If I'm gonna drink gin it's gonna be with tonic. I'd prefer vodka, tequila or scotch

Add some vodka, rum, tequila, triple sec, and a few other ingredients to that gin and you'll have a long island iced tea. Not one of my favorites, but it will do in a pinch.

if you add a tbs of lemon to the gin and ginger ale, you have a delicious Gin Buck.

Actually, that is what I did. Well not a tablesoon, but some lemon. I will remember that. I figured it had a name - just didn't know what the name was.

I also like a good Tom Collins. But G&T is still one of my favorites.

The quinine in tonic water prevents malaria, hence why the gin and tonic was so popular among British troops serving in the tropics.

I myself like a Tanqueray martini, with a gin to vermouth ratio of 4 to 1, shaken and strained into a martini glass and served with an olive. I did learn something in college besides book smarts.

I like my gin with about three fingers of a good Kentucky straight bourbon, and hold the gin.

But during the years I drank gin virtually exclusively, I'd mix martinis at about a 10:1 ratio (gin:vermouth). The next phase was to fill a glass with ice, tickle it with two drops*** of angostura bitters, and top it off with gin. Nowadays, on the rare occasions I do drink gin, I'll add a couple olives in with the ice and that's it.

*** I rarely ordered this in a bar or restaurant. No matter how emphatically I spoke my drink order, bartenders couldn't seem to grasp the idea that two drops literally meant TWO DROPS.

If I have to drink gin, it'll be with more gin. I'm more of a Kentucky bourbon neat kind of guy.
