She's a good'un, Ed. Never really been totally out of the picture, though. Made a couple of albums in the 90's and another one 5 or so years ago. But last year, she put out the one you need to get. It's called Coffee & Bossa: The Chillout Sound of Astrud Gilberto. It's a sizable compilation of most of her best stuff. Here it is on Amazon. There is also a follow-up released this year, but I have not heard it yet.

Wow!! She has been the musical love of my life ever since Stan GetZ featured her way back (seems like a million years) in "The Girl from Ipenena". Trully a wonderous jaZZ voice and such a bueaty! Never get tired of listening to her.

I am gonna have to look into that album. Funny thing - my brother has 1 or 2 of her CDs and was telling me to just the other day to look her up.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

OK, that's going on my "wish list".

I fully agree with everything you said. That could have been her biggest hit.

She has a unique, very beautiful voice. And from pictures I've seen of her she's a very attractive lady as well.
