She's a good'un, Ed. Never really been totally out of the picture, though. Made a couple of albums in the 90's and another one 5 or so years ago. But last year, she put out the one you need to get. It's called Coffee & Bossa: The Chillout Sound of Astrud Gilberto. It's a sizable compilation of most of her best stuff. Here it is on Amazon. There is also a follow-up released this year, but I have not heard it yet.
Wow!! She has been the musical love of my life ever since Stan GetZ featured her way back (seems like a million years) in "The Girl from Ipenena". Trully a wonderous jaZZ voice and such a bueaty! Never get tired of listening to her.

I fully agree with everything you said. That could have been her biggest hit.
She has a unique, very beautiful voice. And from pictures I've seen of her she's a very attractive lady as well.
