    Lowe's coming to Canada

    From their website:

"We'll be opening our first Canadian stores in December 2007 in the Greater Toronto and surrounding areas. In the years to come, we expect to open as many as 100 stores across Canada.
The first of six stores expected to open during fiscal 2007 will be in Brantford, Hamilton and Brampton. A Toronto store is slated to open in late January. Lowe's has 18 additional sites in the pipeline."

Which one do you like better HD or Lowe's? Why?

I didn't know Lowes wasn't in Canada. It depends on the store and what I am shopping for.

I also think it depends on the individual store. If you want information at Lowe's around here, you might as well ask a first grader. HD is far better. Other areas might be just the opposite though.

Originally a year ago I had heard that Lowe's was going to break into the Canadian market by buying out RONA's Superstore locations ... but the at fell thru ...
Lowe's coming into the Canadian Market just means more competition and lower Prices amongst the retail giant already here: Home Hardware, RONA, Canadian Tire, Home Depot ...

I'm sure most of our southern neighbours won't even know what a RONA, Home Hardware, or Canadian Tire ... but I know what a Lowes is

I could have probably made a good guess on Home Hardware, but the others

I find Lowes to be far superior in home improvement and limited woodworking. Home Depot seems to cater more to the decorating type stuff. Lowes has a better selection of hardware, etc however to my amazement there can be a significant difference in pricing between Lowes and HD. HD was much cheaper on basic door hole drilling kits. HD was much cheaper on Euro hinges and slides.
