    Halloween candy

My wife bought some candy for the kids. Just before they were to start Trick or Treating, I emptied the candy into a big bowl. It didn't look like there was very much candy there, so I counted it. There were enough candy bars for 75kids. I told her that wouldn't be enough. She said it would. When it was all over, I counted the leftovers to see how many kids we had. We had 56 kids. I guess I should have known she would be right.

I'f I'd been counting there would have been 74. or 73. or maybe 72... heck, if there are 72 then 70 is a nice even number.

Over the years it seems that our neighbour is on a steady decline ... I'd be surprised if we had anymore than maybe 30 ...

With only 16 houses on the street, and only 2 young kids that I know of, we don't even buy candy.

The granddaughter came over to spend the night. It is also the kid's anniversary and they wanted to spend it alone.

Two years in a row we ran out of candy and I had to run out for more. And we didn't finish handing it out until around 10 PM. So this year we bought more candy.

We now have 4 bags left over, and the last kid was here at 8.

          Remarkable drop.

Went through 14 bags of candy 4 bars left for me and grand daughter. It started at 6:30 and we closed the door and turned off the porch light at 8:30, get a little scary around here after that. Lot of cute costumes especially on the older teenage girls (16,17,18) all dressed like the dumb Hollywood women in the new lately. The little kids are really cute this year.

The Conder boy's decided to go to our church this year and trunk or treat. It was a lot of fun. The church had games inside like pumkin bowling, cake walk, face painting, etc. Then they went outside and all the parents passed out candy from there trunks. My kids racked it up. We have enough candy to feed cause the entire family a sugar induced coma.

Since we live in the country we don't get anyone so I don't buy any candy. But our little town does a trick or treat around the downtown area, so that is where I took the kids. They got quite a bit for the hour or so that we were out there and then we had to go to the grandparents and great grandparents , and at my parents house my dad loaded them up with stuff . Now to go and hide it so it won't be gone in a day or so.

We moved to the main street of Red Lion, PA earlier this year (which is a little town in S. Central PA) and we were told halloween is a big deal here so I bought what I thought was a lot of candy. It's twice as much as I've ever bought when we lived in a townhouse community in MD or in the city of Minneapolis.

When I got home and dumped it out on the table it didn't look like so much so I counted it all. There were 252 mini candy bars of various flavors. Ok - I felt better. That's enough for 125 kids if they each get two. The onslaught started at 6:00. I stopped giving 2 after about 20 kids. I ran out at 7:15 so off went the lights. JoAnn is leaving for a week in Minneapolis with old friends today and had to go get some stuff last night and then we went for a quick dinner. Driving by the house at 8:00 on our way to the restaurant there were still lots of kids around. I think we would have run out with twice as much.

This year we nearly ran out of candy, last year we didn't have the kid stop by. It was much more fun this year, some of the little ones were really cute.

I'd bet you made sure the word got out that you were the guy who gives shots to little kids.
