Basically all wine should be stored in a dark cool area.
Whites or any other sweeter wines should be served cool to cold.
reds should be served room temp.

one wine error that is easy to make is assuming all zinfindel is white. "zin" is red, white "zin" is white and a completely different wine.
The reason to taste the first pour of the wine is not to accept it as pleasing to your palate, it is to test it to see if has "gone to vinegar". if the wine is fine but you just don't like the flavor then you still bought that bottle of wine!

so much good wine is made here in the US, I say the aussies can keep their wine. I have 50 wineries in my county alone, why do I want something that came over on a ship?

BTW I'm a beer snob that lives in a wine region, you pick this stuff up by osmosis here.
