    Back in the Saddle

Well, after 7 weeks of being unemployed and 7 weeks of consulting at a reduced rate just to pay the mortgage.

    I'm back!!!!

Just accepted an offer to be the CFO of a small non-profit. Worked out to get a 5% raise over my last job. Best part is that what they do and where they do it is linked to my family, so they are all excited too. They work with companies with business interests in SE Asian countries. My wife is from Manilla, my sister-in-law is Malaysian, and I just found out that my 21 year old neice's (painful realization as I changed her diapers) boyfriend is from Hong Kong.

Good for you, dude. Adversity such as downsizing usually leads to better opportunities. Had a feeling it would for you, too. Make the most of it.

That sounds like a great job, Mike, and in a very active field.

          Congratulations!

That is great news. Does this mean business trips to SE Asia?

thanks guys, I'm definitly very excited.

As far as traveling. I don't think it will happen. At least not often. LOML has already given her approval if it comes up "You'll get to visit Mom and Dad", and I do have my passport. So, who knows.
