We give only(*) through our church, where we can direct our donations to any number of organizations from local to world-wide, regional, and even things like disaster relief for specific events. They don't sell our contact info, they never spam me, and they give me a nice end-of-year accounting of everything we've given and to whom. =)
It also makes it a lot easer to fend off others who ask for money because we have a "canned" answer.
It's not monetary, but we make yearly donations of books, music, clothes, furniture, etc., but we never give our contact information for these things -- all we need is the receipt.
(*) The only exception we make is for those evil thin mints the girl scouts bring around every year. I'm an addict.
End result is that we rarely this type of mail -- except for my wife's alma mater, who seem to be able to track her down no matter where she is.Last edited by Alex Franke; 10-02-2007, 09:44 PM.online at http://www.theFrankes.com
