My son is back safe from Iraq

He arrived back at Ft Lewis on Saturday. Said he had to wear his winter clothes and mittens as the temperature was in the 60s. He spend about 10 weeks in Iraq - he was lucky to join a unit at the tail end of their 15 month deployment.

We're going to drive his car out to him in late October (2500 miles) and fly back. Not looking forward to the drive but seeing him again will be great.

Thanks to everyone praying for our troops.

Glad to hear he has returned safely. Please forward my heartfelt thanks to him and his buddies for their service to our country. Without him and others like him we would loose all our freedoms, without a doubt.

w00t! Tell him a big "thank you" from my family -- for being braver than I will ever be. He and all the other soldiers have been in our thoughts and prayers for years, and they will remain there until they're all safe at home.

They are both in the same unit (IIRC - Gary, correct me if I am wrong!) - B Co 1-23 INF - Stryker Brigade - I am so very proud of all of them - and I thank all of them and their families for their service. (where's my flag-waving smilie?)

                            C-52 / 3rd Stryker Brigade / 2nd Infantry Division

His unit in this video - everyone survived. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHxTcbf5SPE

He joined the unit well after this was taken but I wanted to give you a taste of what it was like. Please remember the board rules and keep discussion non-political.

Cheers for you. My brother got back from the Gulf in June, having spent about 10 months there. He is in the Navy, however, so they were not seeing any actual action.
