    Previous Black Friday gloats?

Way to early for Black Friday I know but a post on another site about a deal he got on a Dewalt 18V drill got me curious as to what others have gotten on other Black Fridays? Any particular store have better deals than others?

About the only "Black Friday" deal that I've been able to take advantage of was three years ago, when HD first had the Ridgid 12-gal shop vacs on sale at $25 (normally $69). They've repeated that twice since then, but the E-Bay hogs come in and grab them all up by 8:00 AM. Last year my local HD, sold 70 of them in the first hour, mostly to a handful of guys who filled thier trucks.

What I find works even better is to hang on to your cash and wait for the close-out deals that occur closer to Christmas and then near the end of January. I've bought several Ridgid combos that way at less than half their normal price.

The only thing I ever got on Black Friday was a headache...

This day was borne out of merchant's greed... Much better deals can be had out of their desperation. Wait until the end of the holidays is in sight for the best deals, or look for private individuals trying to raise cash to fund their holiday needs.

Fishing is always a good choice for 'Black Friday'.

Since the Pennsylvania whitetail season for rifle hunting begins on the following Monday, I spend black Friday in the woods - not too much, though. I don't want to stink up the place.

I haven't gone to any LOCAL black Friday sales. My work is in an area FLOODED with them, and I get to deal with them anyway. Considered the borg, but know the lines.

Now LAST YEAR, I worked black Friday and got home around 10:45, and checked out Heavy Duty tools site, not expecting anything left. Several things that were on my look to list were gone, but one wasn't. At that late at night, I was able to pick up a Milwaukee 5625 for $190.

Hoping he will have them again this year, so I can get one for my father.

Normally, around the first of October, one of the black Friday sites starts having it's adds posted.

You gotta wonder why they don't put a limit on a vacum cleaner. Who needs that many.

That makes 2 of us. I usually leave for the cabin friday. I land up north of you near Huntingdon.

Small world, Mike. My cabin is between Houstontown and Waterfall, the later sitting just a couple miles from the Huntington County line. I get there on Friday, have the whole family there on Saturday for T.giving #2 and a few stay over to hunt on Mon and Tues.

Time I get up, and get to the Borg (or anyplace else) all the good deals are gone. Then again maybe 6:00 PM is a little late

I agree with finding the sales before Xmas. The choices in the end of Jan are limited but much better!!

Last year found a Lowe's that had a couple of tables with bags of mixed stuff in them (looked like all the extras that came with the display models). Every time I stopped in something new, place was 45 miles way didn't stop that often. Could pick up something like 4-5 angle grinder disks (different sizes and types) in 1 bag for $3.00. Got about a dozen Reciprocating Blades for $1.50

It just so happens that every T-giving sees me ~260 miles from home, visiting family. I did score one of those vacs for $25 cause I work by a branch in Manhattan and it had a few (guess not many people buy shop vacs in the City), and they forgot to take down the sale tag by Monday. But I really been wanting another one...
