I'm definitely not sure if this is for real, but it's hilarious either way. The guy who pulled the prank was interviewed, and apparently the pranks have been escalating for a while. Their pranks are available on the video site, too.

That is priceless. I feel bad for that girl, though. I feel better that she teed off on him! Pow! Right to the kisser. She was the only one who knew how to act in that situation.

I have as warped a sense of humor as anyone (maybe more so) but this seems like a waste of otherwise useful time and energy, and public humiliation of the innocent (private humiliation is OK
) is not cool.

I'm a fan of pranks between friends, but I think that crosses the line. If the girlfriend had been in on the prank, I'd be fine with it - but she was the one most affected and she has nothing to do with their prank war. It's just not cool to mess with a woman like that.BillComment

Yeah, I guess it can be pretty off-putting to some people. I've seen worse pranks, and I didn't think this was that bad when I saw it since I've been watching the prank war escalating.
The girl slapped the guy because he said, "I don't wanna f***ing marry you!" They've been together three years. I'm sure the guy panicked (he was practically screaming, "That's not me!"), otherwise he would have realized it was a prank (unless the whole thing was a show, in which case any sympathy is unwarranted). Who's going to propose to his girl using his nickname "Streety Bird" anyway?
Oh, well.
At the very least, this might give pause to those guys who think it's romantic to propose to their girlfriends in front of thousands of strangers during a ball game. Not sure if that's good or bad, but some women are probably relieved.

I dunno, I know it sucks to be publicly joked on. However, the "victim" was at a ball game. He's surrounded by 50,000 strangers who have no idea who he is, and never will. The "perpetrator" was embarrassed by an earlier prank in front of his entire office. I think, given the escalating nature of the "war", that it's not that out of line. Now if they would have broken up, then my opinion would have been different.Comment

I found it really funny but then again it wasn't me getting pranked. Kinda felt bad until I read the history and how they have been doing this sort of thing to each other for the past year. This was number 6.
Watch the others (Prank War 1-5) here and you might start feeling bad for the dude that pulled the Yankee Stadium prank instead of the guy that got slapped.Comment

I first saw the video a few days ago, not long after it happened. I initially thought that it was a funny prank, but when I saw how genuinely excited the girlfriend was when she saw the proposal and how pissed off she was when Streety Bird denied proposing and she stormed off (nice hit by the way) - I felt that it was out of line to put her in the middle of their pranks.
If they had only been dating a month, they would both look dumbfounded when they saw the proposal on the jumbotron, and the prank wouldn't be as good. Being that they have been dating for a few years, it's wise not to go messing in their relationship like that.
After reading the interview and seeing what Streety said, I think he definitely should have said something else to try to calm things down - he deserved the slap from the girlfriend, but he needs to give the other guy a serious beating.BillComment
