    My Shopping List

Yesterday was the Woodcraft bag sale, 15% off most anything that would fit into a bag. Over the past couple days I had made a shopping list of the things I NEEDED.
I got to the store about 2 PM and found it a bit crowded. I got my 2 bags, nice large strong ones, and started filling my shopping list. The stock was good and I only ran across a couple items that they were out of.
When I checked out I found that I had spent twice as much as I had intended but I had also saved twice as much so that was a wash.
I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet but I think I got talked into a Jet JDP-15MF drill press, 10% off for the rest of the month.
    It was a fun afternoon.

I tried that exact same logic with my husband, and he won't believe me! Oh, and there also seems to be a dispute on what the definition of NEED is. Can you please give him a talking to?

I'll have to check on the drill press. I've been wanting one... I mean needing one for a while now. I do wish I'd remembered to check my local Woodcraft yesterday. Completely forgot about that 15% off sale.

The JDP-15MF looks like a lot of tool for the money. I had the JDP-17 in my last shop and liked it but it would be overkill now.
16 speeds, 3/4 HP, 4" quill travel $379.99 at my Woodcraft.

        Dick,
Glad to see you are getting a shop back together. I bet you missed it a lot. I have looked at both of those DPs and have about decided to get the 15" also; they look good.
The logic of spending vs savings is perfectly clear to me.

Woodcraft had a Rikon 12" or 14" benchtop DP on sale for $130 a few months ago. I wish I bought it then. I don't have space for a floor model, unfortunately.

I'll swing by WC sometime this week and see if they have any of the benchtops for sale again. And there are those other stuff that I need.

A couple of more sales and you will have the new shop outfitted, Dick.

Sounds like fun! I love the smell of sawdust in the morning--and afternoon...

Where is your shop located? Garage? Spare bedroom?

The shop will be in what has been used as a storeroom in the garage area of the complex. We have most of the junk moved out now, the next step is to tear out some old shelving and get some lighting in.
I'll post some pictures when it starts to look like a shop.
