    Frustration.

I have been looking for a new mid size air compressor. It seems that when all the good sales are on and I have coupons and discounts and Craigslist is rife with the objects I want I have no money. When I have the money for a new tool there are no discounts and the coupons have expired and Craigslist is a wasteland. Grrrr. I can't win.

I feel your pain. What happens to me is within a week or two after buying something from Sears or HF, I'll get a flier or discount coupon with a discount for that item. How do they know?

Maybe you could wait for a larger model to be sold like in the classified section and gobble it up. I always try to get a tool larger or more powerful than I need. You should meet my wife.

She has her own computer. She reads all the posts. She made me do it!

It wouldn't be the real world if it worked differently.

            Don't click here.

I bought this when it was a few (about 35) bucks cheaper, but the free shipping makes it incredibly attractive even at this price IMO. I am thrilled with this unit.

Thanks for the link Linear. I am however looking for a unit that has at least 8.5-9 SCFM flow at 40psi for use with HVLP. Must be portable ie wheels and between 25 and 35 gal tank. The lowest priced new unit that comes close is a Craftsman model and that one is near $400. I have a 6 gal PC pancake model that fits the bill for nailing and light work but need more as explained above. Last week Craislist listings had several units in this range but all of them were of the 220 volt variety. My garage does not have 220 and just to put it in would mean ripping up large amounts of pavement in order to change the underground existing wire. The one that fit the bill was sold so fast I did not even get a chance to reply. Of course then I did not have the cash. Oh yeah and a nice oil type compressor unit would be nice too. Those oil free types are noisy as all get out.

                SparkyJames,

I have a Craftsman 33-gal, 150 psig that provides that CFM. It certainly isn't the best compressor in the world, but then I'm not using it everyday either. It is most often posted in the sales flyers at $300. Mine is about two years old now, with the only problem being a leaky drain valve which they repaired under warranty.

Before I bought it, I looked at several other models, but none had the CFM flow of the Craftsman (made by DiVilbiss). The unit is non-lubed, aluminum construction, so it is noisey. I'd prefer a lube cast-iron unit, but they are a lot more money.
