Agreed that the bad language was wrong, and the comment about winning/losing a bit strong if it was said as what was in the article.
On the flip side, I think the current idea of "everybody that plays is a winner and we don't even need to keep score" to avoid damaging the kid's self esteem is just as wrong. They need to learn that life isn't always bright, sunny, and a bed of roses.Don, aka Pappy,
