Anyone here have any pointers / plans / tips/ and lessons learned for building a simple (SIMPLE as in KISS simple) IR illuminator for a home wireless webcam sorta thing... ( summer infant 900MHZ wireless day/night camera)

In this case, the camera has an infrared filter built in, and he just removes it. -
TV/VCR Remote controls make great IR illuminators. I've tried it with my dad's
older Sony Hi8 and it worked pretty well. Try it out with one of yours first. If
it's satisfactory, maybe you can use a clamp to hold one of the buttons down
and possibly rig up an external power source so you don't waste batteries.
