Let me say right off the bat that I'm not an envirnomental activist. But I am concerned about irresponsible pollution of our Great Lakes. Please do not get into a political discussion. If the mods think it needs to be deleted, please do so.
British Petroleum, aka BP, and formerly kown as AMOCO and Standard Oil, has been granted a permit to release more toxins into Lake Michigan. You can read more about it in many places on the internet. Many citizens, as well as elected officials from Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin are upset with the issuing of the permit, and legal action has been threatened, if necessary, to stop it before it gets going. There is also an online petition you can sign if you disagree with the issuing of the permit. It doesn't matter where you're from. People from several states have already signed it.
