    What is it?

I ordered this tool from a surplus catalog about 25 years ago. The tool is about 64 years old.

Yes, a caulking hammer used in the shipyards during WW II for caulking the seams on wooden minesweepers.

When I was going to school in Albuquerque, some of us shared an apartment. the Maintenance man used to work in the ship yards in San Diego and he showed me some of his tools and talked about making the keel of the minesweepers. At the time, I was too young and stupid to appreciate what he was telling me about precision handwork.
