    Forrest sharpening service?

Has anyone used them, especially for a non Forrest blade?

I have a neighbor, who has an old saw with a 3/4" arbor (10" blade). His old blade is dull, and I am sure needs at least a couple of teeth replaced, and it made me wonder weather they replace the old, with thicker carbide?

What about, around how much did it cost to get a blade shipped back to them? (I am also thinking of getting one of the blades when they are on special, and having it shipped to them, to bore bigger for him).

He is thinking of getting a new saw, since he just can't go out and get a new blade (40+ year old blade and saw), but new saws aren't always as good (he's got this one where he is very happy with).
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I have sent a WWII and the original Ryobi blade to Forrest but I haven't tried them since getting them back.

I'm including as a JPG the pricelist from Scott's Sharpening Service (Scott Whiting). Scott frequents other forums (I've seen him at SawmillCreek and Woodnet) and his work is highly regarded. Never seen a bad thing said about his work.

Price is substantially lower than the Forrest price ($13 for a 40-tooth blade vs. $20.50 at Forrest).

Seeing as he sells blades I imagine he can bore them out, too.

You could also suggest that your neighbor get his arbor machined to 5/8". May pay for itself in blade savings if he plans to keep the saw a long time.
