    And what about you?

    I read in the paper this morning that 65% of people asked, said they spent more time on the computer than they do with their spouse/significant other. What about you?

    Nope. LOML won't let me, unless I'm paying bills or doing taxes. And on weekends, I can spend Sat. in the shop, after doing the yard work. But not Sun.

    That's OK. She keeps life interesting....

      That would be true for my wife and I as we both work with computers.
      We found our way around the problem. We both often work from home and have wireless networking in the home. This way not only do we get to spend time together but we can multitask other things at the same time. We keep in touch with friends using IM. I have an old laptop out in my shop also. Even when 1 of us is away we are in touch with each other using the net. I'm sure this isn't the same for many people but my wife and I started our relationship bicoastally seeing each other for a long weekend once a month and chatting daily over the net using both text and voice. That was 7 years ago. A year later we were engaged moved in together and after another year married. Our 5th wedding anniversary if July 5th and we are still loving life together and thankful we are both net savy.
      Opinions are like gas;
      I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

        My wife is upstairs, I'll send her and email and ask her.

          I divorced my significant other. I am still with my computer. In spite of the fact that it also occasionally has a mind of it's own, I have never been tempted to toss my computer into a lake...

            No not me. I made my living as a programer (mainframe) before I retired, now I spend about an hour to hour and a half a day on the computer. Besides the computer is not near as warm and cuddly in bed

              Well we kind of have that problem licked! We share one wall of (two desks) the "craft/computer/dart board/whatever else room. She is on her PC and I am on my MAC, so its easy when her MicroSoft crashes or acts goofy, I can just lean over "snort" and softly say; "Shouda got an Apple!"

                  Two hours a day on the computer, 6 hours a day with the LOML, 8 hours a day with my significant other (Craftsman 22114), the rest sleeping with LOML. Does that count as 14 hours with LOML? The only deviation from this is on golf days, twice a week.

                    My laptop outlasted what I thought was the LOML so what does that say about me?

                    However, TWO LOML's are still around and call me dad, and both of them always come before the laptop.

                      If work counts, then yeah, more time spent on a computer. The real one, you know, a Sun running Solaris.(32 CPUs, 20GB RAM)

                      At home, my PC desk is in the living room, so even when I am using it, I am communicating with family.

                          Nah, Ed62 after 28 years together she knows all about me and my devious mind! We give and take with an ease that 28 years brings on. Wouldn't trade her for a shop full of tools......well, maybe Norn's shop! (LOL)
