              Good guess!!!! But I don't think the wires look that big of gage. Those old wires had lots thicker coating on them then they do now.

                        No details on the date of it. This charger has a footprint of 13 1/2" x 17" and can be bench top or wall mounted. The large vacuum tube has a mogul light bulb base. Two wires entering one side are likely for 110 ac power and three wires enter another side. A ten position potentiometer, ammeter, momentary push button switch, rotary on/off switch, double fuse holder, and tube socket are mounted on the top.
