    Here's Another - What's This?

Got another easy one. What is this called, and what's it used for?

a Gimlet is used to make a starter hole for screws.

it is also used for puncturing the powder charge and inserting a fuse in a cannon

    waaaay too easy

I think it looks like a bottle opener/corkscrew. A gimlet is also a drink, which shows where my mind is.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

Aber das ist natürlich ein Vorbohrer!

And now I know the English term for it to, thanks! Used to have one in my starter toolbox I got as a kid.

Used to have a starter like that... Came from some old tools I inherited from Gramps. It had a more conventional wooden handle, though.
