How do you sign your work?

I'm just curious... How do you all sign or personalize your work? Pencil? Ink? Dremel? Branding Iron? Brass nameplates? Nothing?

Do you date you work? Do you use any special codes or creative marks? Do you take pictures before you give away or sell your work? What records do you keep (e.g. wood types, construction notes, hours, price, etc)?

Do you leave Easter eggs? (e.g. I like to write messages in otherwise hidden places, like under the felt on the bottom of a chess board.)

Is there anything else you do consistently for each piece to personalize it or mark it as your own? (e.g. leave some shavings in a drawer, use a special dovetail pattern, deliver with a gold bow, etc)

I use a branding iron in, usually on the bottom.

I don't sign mine. After it falls apart, everybody knows it's mine...

I don't sign my work, but I do try to take a few pictures and notes about what I used and how I made the piece.

I hope some day to be making enought items that one of those nifty personalized branding irons would be worthwhile.

I bought an inexpensive custom rubber stamp. If applied before the finish coat it works very nicely.

I also like to glue on a penny from the year the piece was made....sometimes I have to use a nickel or quarter if the pennies aren't out yet.

I use a pencil. Date it, name it and for whom it was made. On the bottom usually.

I do it like Hank does, using a Sharpie pen. Since most of my stuff is for family, I think it will make it more special to them in the years to come.

My name, "customer" name, and date in an inconspicuous location, using a Sharpie.

Scott's idea to glue on a current-year penny is great. I may start doing that.

                      Branding iron, just initials.

+1 on the penny. Great idea.

Branding Iron! Wish there was a way to have changable year date on it.

I also use a sharpie on the bottom or the back.

                            Gary, Nice table BTW.
Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! -Rocky Balboa-

Why not just add the date with a soldering iron or woodburning pencil?
