For those who don't have the propensity to cheat, this is the same guy (a little younger). So let this thread be a lesson to all that it proves that anything goes. Remember the thread about morality?

This is pretty interesting stuff. I am old enough to remember the Monkees, but had never heard of Michael Nesmith since that time. And yet look at all he's done - a number of recordings, producing records, the MTV thing, etc.
This leads to the a discussion my sister and I frequently have. She's from the midwest and always wants to know where all the money in California comes from and how who can afford these real estate prices and why are there so many cars on the road (she can go on like this for quite some time...).
So here's a guy some of us have heard of who has made a modest fortune plugging away in entertainment. The annual revenue of California entertainment businesses is $40B. Think how many people there are who none of us has heard of, making even more than Mr. Nesmith. Or how many carpenters, makeup artists, recording engineers, film production specialists, etc. are employed.
It would be a crazy business to be in, but it sure is big money.
I would be willing to bet that his income originating from Liquid Paper far exceeds that originating from entertainment. Even if people don't use it that much any more, I believe his mother sold it to some corporation for an enormous amount in the 70s.
That tv show aired in the '60's . They were (1) Michael, Davy, and Peter
they were the " Monkees". "people say we just monkey around...but we're
too busy singing....to put anybody down...hey, hey, hey we're the monkees"
I would be willing to bet that his income originating from Liquid Paper far exceeds that originating from entertainment.
Maybe.
From wikipedia:
"Nesmith's mother, Bette Nesmith Graham, invented and patented opaque typewriter correction fluid, commonly known by the brand name "Liquid Paper" or "Wite-Out", in the 1950s. When she died, Nesmith inherited about half of her $50+ million estate. "
And also this: Pacific Arts Video became a pioneer in the home video market, ... blah blah blah ... On February 3, 1999, a jury awarded Nesmith $46.8 million in compensatory and punitive damages, ...blah blah blah... PBS appealed the ruling and a settlement was reached with the results kept confidential."
