    Veterans Day

From Snopes.com a fitting speach given by James Bradley, the son of one of the men immortalized on the Iwo Jima Memorial. He is also the author of the book, "Flags of Our Fathers". It's worth the read.

I would like to offer my personal thanks to all who have or are serving in our military for protecting the rights set forth in the Constitution of the United States; for the privledge of a good night's sleep; for the opportunity to see my children and grandchildren grow in happiness with the vision of a tomorrow which holds hope and dreams. I could continue but it's getting a bit hard to see the screen and I fear that my thanks is insufficient to the measure of duty given by you, our veterans.

    God bless you all,
    Chiz

That was a nice post. We don't really need Veteran's Day to give thanks for what they've given. And for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, there's not enough "Thanks" in the world.

Couldn't have said it better, Cabinetman. Too few really understand what that flag represents and what has been paid to preserve it. Too soon we forget that freedom is not free. It comes at a very high price. My 81 year old mother flys that flag everyday, up in the morning, back in at night.
