I picked up our first one, a small electric, at a garage sale. We used it to clean moss off our driveway and our wood decks. I personally prefer an electric because I hate messing with gas engines.
You have to be careful about focusing the spray. Our driveway and part of the back patio are made with an aggregate that has small pebbles in it. Too mch pressure dislodges the pebbles, which makes a mess of the concrete surface.
I'll say this. The $40 I spent on that used washer was worth every penny even though the motor burned out after about 10 hours of use. Without it our driveway would be solid green slime in winter because no amount of brushing would break off that moss.
