    Ebay Wood Source

Since I like to make a lot of small stuff. Boxes, etc. I often buy cut-off lots or single boards of exotic hardwoods. In the past I have ordered boxes of cut-offs of Ebony, Holly, Pink Ivory and some assorted. I can usually get single boards that are better and cost less than locally, including shipping.

I have made several purchases on ebay from Chitswood and have been uniformly pleased with their service and quality. The boards are better than the pictures.

I, recently, bought a box of Blackwood cut-offs from Chitswood. It weighed 15 pounds. It cost $35.00 including shipping. The stuff is gorgeous. Highly figured. Very heavy and dense. The contrast between the heart wood and sap wood is dramatic.

As usual. This will sit in my shop until it decides what it wants to be.

I've heard a lot of good things about Chits as well. Huge selection of exotics. Too bad they will not let folks come there in person.

For ebay haters, they are at www.chitswood.com --the site is so fluky I can't tell if it has a shopping cart. But the contact page lists a phone number and email address so it's probably possible to achieve purchases without going through ebay.
