My brother gave Dad a digital rain gauge for Christmas. It was made by AccRite that he got at Academy Sporting. It does have some problems as it does eat up the batteries, 2 AA in the gauge and 3 AAA inthe receiver . It updates the gauge every minute. Not sure what is causing the problem.
I saw one made by Springfield at BORG and am thinking about it. It is about $30. Not sure how many batteries or how often it does an update.
My other option is to get the optional rain guage for the LaCrosse Tech weather station that I have. It has indoor/outdoor temp and wind speed. the rain guage is another $65 but does not need any additional batteries.
Has anyone tried the Springfield yet? Sure would like to get something before our rainy season is over.
