No, not the kind of lucky.
Yesterday, I was helping one of my kids build a deck. It was a little over 4 feet higher than the ground. We put floor joists 16" o.c., meaning there was 14 1/2" between joists. He wanted to use 3/4" T&G OSB for flooring because it would not be subjected to the elements. I wouldn't have used it, but it's his dime.
I was laying the OSB, and had cut a sheet in half, to fit what I needed. Thinking both ends were setting on a joist, I stepped on the end. Evidently it was barely on the joist, or it wasn't on it at all because when I stepped on it, I fell between the joists, to the ground below. The piece of OSB came with me. I'm not a big guy, being 5' 8", and 165 lbs. But how in the world did I fit between the joists, while only getting 1 arm scraped up a little?
Somebody up there must like me.
