I want to give these folks credit where credit is due. Placed a large order on Saturday around noon. Most items were from 3rd party vendors, though the Jet 6" DC hose and Incra items were from Amazon. 1.25 hrs later I got an confirmation of shipment! Holy smokes! I do have Amazon Prime (picked up for free during Christmas promo), but come on . . . . 1.25 hrs? On a SATURDAY?!!?? I've never even had anything ship on a Saturday before. I assumed their warehouse was closed on Saturday.

Back when I had regular shipping it was fine. Took a few days to process the order, then I would usually get the item the next day since they have a big warehouse about 25 minutes from my house. UPS ground becomes overnight for me due to proximity. With as a Prime member the order pull goes to the top of the pile and they get those out quicker. Still, with probably 50 orders last year I never once has a Sat or Sunday shipment processed.Comment

Yep. Been a Prime Member since it started. Even though I pay a yearly fee, it is very cost effective. Why?
1. No shipping charge
2. No tax
3. I order a lot from Amazon - tools, household, etc etc etc 'cause I can't find things around here (and don't feel like driving to Austin or Dallas) or Amazon is far cheaper.
Not quite sure how Amazon does it. The Prime yearly cost, for me is far less than what the shipping costs on lots of orders would be.
And I love it when they "expect delivery" in 4-5 days and it arrives the next day.Comment
