WOW! What a tragedy. I hope the first report is the correct one.

That is really tragic. The mind reels at how this could happen.

That is a tough one (are any school shootings easy though). No good reasons, no good answers

I'm shocked that there was a 2hr gap from the dorm shooting until the classroom shootings. I think in general the first thing that happens during a shooting is to go into a lockdown and swarm the place with law enforcement. I wonder if that didn't happen here or if the gunman managed to sneak past.

Good question. Without knowing any of the details of the case, it ocurrs to me that VT is a huge campus, and the gunman might have had time to slip out a side door and be well away from the dorm before the alarm was sounded.

Any word on what sort of firearm he was carrying?

22-caliber and 9-mm pistols, possibly with high-capacity ammo clips. That's info so far. [edited with new information]

Man, some of the things coming out is just amazing. It appears that the school sent an email after the first shooting telling everyone to be careful and watch out for suspecious activity! Unreal! I think a murder is a good reason to cancel class!

Our media can't handle reporting the truth, so they just try to invent a good selling story.

"Law enforcement officials tell ABC News they believe there was a single gunman, firing at least two 9mm semi-automatic pistols. They said he may have been wearing a bulletproof vest.

It is unknown at this time if the guns had standard or extended clips, which can fire as many as 30 shots before the gun has to be reloaded."

Talk about spreading FUD. May have? Unknown? Then don't print it. Anything to sensationalize a body count. Our media is the biggest pile of crap you can find.
