So sorry to hear it - maybe he can get together with my female Siberian that we lost two months ago after having her for 14 years. I understand what you are going through and will hold good thoughts for you and your family
I'm very sorry Mike. I lost the last of six from 1972 two years ago. I told my wife not to get me another as frankly.. I just don't want to go through losing another again in this life-time.
Most non-pet owners do not understand the bond and friendship that you form with your furry family members. I'm sorry for your loss and just remember to feel blessed for the time spent together.
I was going to reply on the first month anniversary but after rereading your posts, couldn't do it. So here I am again, teary eyed, to thank you all for you thoughts and wishes.
Lakota was special in alot of ways. I adopted him 9 years ago, and we were bachelors together. We had a great time together living in DC and it only got better after I met his mom and we adopted his sister. He lived to love and was as smart as a whip. He would watch his "handlers" at daycare and learned how to open the gate from the back play area to the front (by moving a chain on the gate), they say he was the only one to figure it out. His mom and I miss him depply and talk to him every day still.
Again, thanks for the thoughts and wishes.
Lakota's Dad.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.
