    *&^%$ Cat! NOT Funny!!!

Dang cat has 5 kittens the pile of Cherry!!

I've lived in the sticks and woods all my life and am not easily scared, er-ah, startled by any of natures creatures. Snakes, no problem, lizards are fun to play with, etc. However skunks make me verrrrry 'anxious'.
I was rummaging in a big pile of Cherry logs that Ken Weaver found for us a few months ago, looking for resaw material. I finished checking out one side of the pile and moved around to another side and began moving big chunks around. Suddenly all Hades broke loose right at my feet and something big, black-and-white and fast ran out brushing my left leg. I think my pulse went to 5000, eyes almost popped out of the sockets and I was dancing to make Snoopie hang his head in shame.
When I got my feet back on the ground and my eyes focused, there sitting in the drive about 15 feet away was this *&^% black and white cat, looking at me and grinning ear-to ear.

Are you going to get nervous whenever you get near cherry from now on?

Nah, I'm having Dr. Weaver move the chunks around next time, and I'm standing by with a video camera!

Thanks for the funny story. I enjoyed it more than you did, at least at the time it actually happened.

If Tina is anything like Reva, that pile of cherry will be off limits and considered sacred ground until the kittens are old enough to move on.

but it sounds to me like that cigarette smokin', no good tequila drinkin' SOB'n cat from the other thread was there at one time tho'.

When I started your story I was waiting for the black and white to be a skunk. Consider yourself fortunate.

Oh, I do, Rod. At least I did till we found the kittens.
At least it's not as bad as when our Pug thought a skunk in the back yard was our female Border Collie and approached it from behind for a sniff! That was BAD..

Reminds me of the time when I amde a mistake in identification too. Neighbor had an old black & white tom; and since we had a female cat, old 'Bandit" used to come visiting, hoping I guess. Anyway one night I went to go out on the back porch. Saw what I thought was Bandit and started to yell; "Go home....Ban---" That was a far as I got cause I realiZed that it wasn't the cat, but a very large and very close skunk! Needless to say from then on I looked more closely when going out at night. Fortunately the skunk took my advise and went home, I guess. Fun times in the country!
