    Well Actually there is a Pic

    This was the payoff. For the first time my oldest wanted to stay with Daddy rather than Mommy. We went and got 3 yard of mulch Saturday morning. Took me a little longer than if I were by myself but it was a whole lot more fun. She's still talking about it. This is us 'scooping' (her word). And yes, I made sure the gloves were on.

          Very nice.... I have memories of me and my old man when I was that age so I try and make sure my boys have memories too. It's the little things stick with ya.

          BTW, thanks for coming over and getting my shaving this weekend.

                  Too Much Time with the Kids.

                  No such thing. I spent 20 years in the Navy and the things I missed doing with my kids while I was deployed can never be replaced. I spent 12 years on sea duty. (not complaining, loved it and still miss that too) If a person thinks he/she is spending too much time with the kids, only the thinking is wrong.

                  PS: Nothing compares to a night on the open ocean, calm seas, bright moon and stars with nothing except the sound of the ship as she moves through the water. Man, do I ever miss that once in a while.

                      Ya know, Crokett, the wife and I have often discussed how we built memories for ourselves of things that the kids won't remember but, they will remember feelings of being with Dad/ Mom. Now that we're grandparents the kids talk about how they enjopyed things that we don't reemmber. So, which is it? Memories of events or of feelings? It's both! Keep building the good times (the old guy types as his eyes well-up a bit).
