If you wanna build miniatures ....

then you'll need the proper tools ....

I FINALLY got pictures of these items that my grandfather made, all of the power tools actually work and are fully operational. In fact, what you can't see in the pic is the aluminum ballpeen hammer head that had been started being turned ... ON THAT LATHE!

I had posted my grandfather's stuff before on here, but these are the items that I thought you folks would most enjoy. I have set up a gallery with a lot of his stuff if you guys want to peruse it. He was trully a one of a kind artist and I will forever miss him.

Here's the link to the gallery .... http://bt3gallery.fhauto.com/view_al...Name=PapsStuff
If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'

WOW is right!! That stuff is incredible. It looks like he did a little metalworking too. Thanks for posting the pic and the link. It was well worth visiting.

        Wow...

It took me a minute to notice the quarter in the picture. Maybe include an in/cm ruler in the shot.

I have to ask: Does that gun work, too?

Your grandfather sure had a lot of talent. That is the work of an artist.

These are heirlooms that should be preserved and protected in a museum as a set!

It would be a shame to see a family member that didn't appreciate them sell them off piece by piece.

An incredible talent and was a man with patience. What I find so interesting in a specialty hobby is the initial interest one takes to a certain project, and then becomes very proficient. It's the first attempt and then the dedication to perfection that is rewarding.

seriously, I'm sure the bolt action does from looking at the pic, but that particular item isn't one that I remember seeing before. It must have been made and given to my uncle right away. It would not surprise me a bit if there were trigger workings in it too tho'

As much as I agree with this, I think it'd be pretty hard to pry this stuff from the hands of some family members. That's why I'm working on this gallery, I'd like to at least have pictures of everything in one place. Both for my own selfishness (there's a LOT of memories there) and just to have a place to share the wonderful things he made.

All of the planes in the gallery are mine, along with the ring, wood/brass cannon and the large ship. I also have a guillotine that I haven't photographed yet. The miniature 3D carving is my daughters. The cabins belong to my Aunt, and the rifle, tools, ship, turkey etc are my Uncles.

I will be adding quite a few things in the near future after I get over to Dad's with the camera, he's got a miniature coffin, handmade radio controlled boat, a double barrel shotgun the size of (maybe smaller) than the rifle, a fully customized Winross truck as well as a few homemade knives among other things.

I'll post periodic updates as the gallery grows.
