    Searching for 'similar sounding' address?

My uncle lives close to Philly, and told me (on the phone) that his street address is "MacCaulky Circle, zip=19154".

At least, that's the name of the street I heard. Now I am unable to find this name online, or anything similar. So how do I find a street that sounds very like "MacCaulky / McCulky / McCulkie/etc circle" in that zip code?

He called me, so I don't have his number to ask him again, and I promised him I will visit him when I in that area couple of weeks later...

Just go to www.whitepages.com and find him using what you have (his name and Philadelphia or ZIP)

If that fails you MIGHT try Google but that one is a bit more questionable since it looks for Internet existence not "life" existence

If you are in the Orlando area contact me lets get together and talk saw dust (or food or anything else you like except sports)

Knowing the person's name and zip will probably work for you if he's listed.

Beyond that, finding contact information for relatives is what Mothers are there for! They keep books with such things and send honest to goodness paper letters to folks on occasions (Luddites!).

Failing that, I think I'd work up the list of relatives you do know how to contact with an emphasis on those with the double X chromosomes, and eventually someone will have his phone number if not his address.

maps.google.com uses Soundex to help correct typos in street aaddresses, so I'd try them. Just type in whatever information you have.

Edit: BTW, "Soundex" is a way of indexing words by the way they sound. The word "MacCaulky" for example, would get converted to a code like "M242", along with a bunch of similar sounding words like "McClauskie" and others, so this code can be used to look up similar sounding names -- but it's not flawless...

Here's another one. Go to http://www.melissadata.com, Lookup Addresses, then Street Names by ZIP. Looks like there's a McCarthy Circle.

Now back to Google maps -- could this be it? http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...m=1&iwloc=addr
