    Have an Echocardiogram

scheduled for my newborn. The pediatrician and Google both say it is fairly common for newborns to have a heart murmer. The doc just wants a baseline 'just in case'. I sure hope she's right and it's nothing.

Good luck to you and your family, Dave. LOML was born with a murmer and is still kicking my butt at 50!

Dave, when Thomas was born they did that with him also. I was in the hospital a couple of days after having him and the day after he was born the pediatrition heard a heart murmur and had an x-ray taken and also an echo done on him.

He also told me that in newborns it is pretty common to hear a murmur for a while till things that should be closed get that way. Now the doctor doesn't hear it.

I will pray that things are okay and everything will be okay.

Thanks for asking Ken but no. Scheduled for Friday AM. I've done a little more research and with nothing else to go on won't worry unless they find something then. Everything says it is pretty common in newborns and my daughter is healthy otherwise.
