The Sonys maybe overpriced, but I have two Vaio desktops that I use a lot. I have never had a problem with either (beyond Windows issues, malware, etc). Of course I can basically say the same thing for Dell. However, there is not a huge premium difference when you check the Sony on sale versus the Dell of equal capabilities. The components of the Sony system always seems to work better. I have never successfully authored and burned a DVD with anything other than a Sony or Mac.
