Anybody see Borat? Man, what a HUGE failure IMHO! I love stupid, lowest common denominator movies but this thing just missed so bad. It was a great idea, and there was a chuckle or two, but I think over all it just missed the mark. The naked wrestling was funny and singing at that rodeo took a bucket of balls, but again I was very let down.
Any other good comedies out there?

I don't watch too many comedies anymore as most of them aren't really that funny anymore. There's no comedy out that I'm anxious in watching. The last really funny I saw was The 40 year Old Virgin. That movie was hysterical. Except for the singing at the end. I'm like you in that I prefer low brow movies as well. My favorites are older ones like Airplane, Caveman, the first Naked Gun, etc.

40 Year Old Virgin was awesome. Office Space was pretty cool. Airplane and Naked Gun, well they are just plain classic.

I watched it recently on my Ipod video during a business trip and aside from a few funny spots I was very very disappointed. My wife is Jewish and I found the jewish humor to be offensive and over the top.

Gotta agree - Borat was a waste of plastic to make the DVDs. But 40 YOV had me on the floor!

how in the h*ll did this movie get him best director. The movie drug on and on and on and on and on and on and was very slow action wise

The new Bond movie comes to DVD next week. If you like this type of movie, you will be in heaven.

Hadn't seen Borat, and when it first came out wanted to see it. I work with a guy from Egypt and he talks a little like the character in Borat, but the more I see previews of it...the less I want to see it. I just saw Jackass 2....it was pretty good. Not as good as the 1st one I don't think. I liked it when they were doig stupid stuff to hurn them selves. Don't knwo why, but seeing someone in a shopping cart, tearing down a hill into a shrub or curb is just hillarous....watching soe one puke...not so much. #2 had too much puking not enough dumb stunts. But then the 1st TV shows were better then the latter ones IMO. Havne't see 40 yr old virgin yet, but I have heard its great...am planning on seeing the Reno 911 movie next weekend. The wife and I love the TV show, so we are looking foward to the movie. Hope were not didipointed.

I finally watched it after hearing so much good about it. I hated it so much that it made me completely re-evaluate those who gave me good reviews about it. I love My Name Is Earl, The Office, and those types of GOOD comedies. This was just stupid and in bad taste. I want my hour and change of time back.

Borat? No thanks. I cringe at some of the stupid pranks they did in the past on Leno, so I'm not really too interested in a whole movie like that.

Pretty decent comedy recently -- Little Miss Sunshine.

One of my favorites (saw it 1st when I was 7-8, and maybe formed my first crush on a HOT woman -- fell in love with Marilyn Monroe) ...

You know it's interesting, both of those movies had lots of folks saying they were great... I haven't seen Borat yet, but I did watch The Departed, and I agree that I was disappointed. Part of it may be how much I was expecting, but I didn't feel this was near as good as his other organized crime movies (Goodfellas/Casino).

Sounds like we are in the same boat. I have the complete Reno 911 DVD series. I hate how they stopped production mid-season to make the movie. I want to know who shot the sheriff!
Agree on Jackass 2, funny but not as good as the 1st. Way too much naked guy stuff on 2!
You have to see 40 Y/O Virgin. I can't imagine you wouldn't love it.

I got to see "Wild Hogs" last weekend and I was surprised at how funny it was.

I am looking forward to seeing "The Shooter" when it comes out later this month. I read the book a while back and couldn't put it down.
