While I haven't died YET, I have received several collection letters for apartments. Not even the correct spelling of my name (if your gonna use the phone book for collections).

I also got a long distance call, starting off with "Randal, do you know who this is?"
    me: No.
    "It's your daughter!"
    Me: Ugh WHAT
"Yes, when you left my mother"
Me: wait a second, WTH are you talking about, how old are you?
"You don't even remember my birthday, it's x/x/72"
Me: So I had you when I was two?

There are at least three people with my name.
My boss had some legal troubles before. His neighbor, had the same name with the exception of the middle name, EVERYTHING, went there (he hadn't met the neighbor) and I believe even the sherriffs, for failure to appear.
Didn't get much in trouble, Judge actually had to laugh, and say (neighbor was in all kinds of trouble, he wasn't) and they just looked at the first and last name and sent it.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I've flown internationally a few times. First was my honeymoon. Every time I came back the customs agent asks me if I am from Chicago. I guess there is a guy in Chicago with my name that somebody is looking for.

I haven't died yet, and like you, the only rocks I climb are the small ones on the ground.

I was stationed in Japan with another SSgt that had the same last name and inititals. Possibly distant cousins, but we weren't ever able to confirm it.

Wives had the same initials and his was going through a lot of dental work. About half the time she had or missed an appointment the clinic would call me and get rude to the point of calling me a liar when I told them they had the wrong person. I finally started asking if they wanted me to bring her in or just drop her teeth off on the way to work. My wife lost all her teeth in her 20's.

You guys think you got it bad, try living in NY with my name, there's tons of us.

When I lived in NYC there were two of us in one apartment building and now I'm thinking of changing mine to John Doe.

I usually watch "Numbers" but went to bed early last night and missed it....hope you're feeling better today!

I can't recall ever seeing myself on the screen as a character, but I did write several books as author "Scott Spencer", the most notable of which is "Endless Love". ...still waiting for those royalty checks!

I enjoy watching numbers, but I haven't died yet. my real last name is uncommon enough that if anyone else has that name I am related somehow and have the same heritage.

side note; the formulas/equations used on the show are authentic and used for the correct applications. they have a advisory committee that makes sure they are. the actor that plays the math professor easy admits he has no idea what he is saying on the show, it's all just lines from his script.

I grew up in a city of like a bizillion people and never once did I get mistaken for someone else. I move to a town of less than 2000 and now I guess I'm Wally.

For those who have children that watch numb3rs:

where each episode is used as the basis for classroom activities. Great fun and a way to catch up on what we all think we know - almost as good as an lchien tutorial

If you want to make sure you are not dead, don't pay your taxes for a couple years. If you don't get thrown in the slammer you are probably dead.

Are you sure about that? Hate to wind up in jail as a corpse. Not sure the IRS cares one way or another!
