    My poor son-in-law

One of my daughters told her husband that my wife and one of her sisters were going on a diet, and she was going to join them. Garret said "Why are they going on a diet?"

    Ouch!

That's going to leave a mark.

That's wrong on so many levels. It might be time for you, Ed, to quietly head for the shop. You don't want to be collateral damage in this affair.

He must learn to keep his mouth shut when those comments are made. No matter what he would say, he would be wrong. Best thing to say is OK and go on reading his book or whatever. This is from one who has been married for 41 years.

If he (Garret) added the emphasis on "they", he is in trouble. If you added it, maybe you are.
