    Metric floursecent light bulbs??

(And now for something completely different...)

Is there such a thing as a 1 meter (~39 inches) T5 floursecent bulb? It's for a fish tank, and it seems like here in the US, you can only get these guys in 1-foot increments.

Or is there such a thing as a 41-inch bulb?

Have you tried pet stores? About the only thing I know about fish is they taste good with tarter sauce. But the bulbs for a fish tank might be special that is why the odd length size.

do you have the old bulb? What does it say?

I worked for years as the fish guy and sold bulbs that were European Imports but I don't recall either a 39 or 41 inch (1 meter) bulb.

Hoods are cheap, so you might be better off replacing the unit.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.

There should be a number following an F, that is the wattage and will determine the bulbs length.
        i.e a regular T5 high output will say F40T5HO.
