I've seen several versons of that one on YouTube but they all end with the arrival of the fire truck. I was wondering if they attempted to get down that hill. Hopefully they made it a.o.k.
It's easy to look at that and roll your eyes at the driver's abilities, but I talked to a few people who were in Portland that day. Seems conditions went from pretty slick to "OMG I have no control!!!" within a few minutes. Just glad I wasn't there that day.
That is what the Seattle area was like back in Dec. I believe. But most of the people over there just parked their cars and left them if there was any kind of hills they had to manuever. Ice and hills and people who don't normally drive in the ice and snow don't mix.
WOW ... watching that was like watching a pinball machine ... I couldn't believe the stupidity of the people standing around my the road, just asking to get hit or pinched between cars ...

That video tells a story. I live in Seattle and travel for my job. That day I drove from Portland to Seattle and that was normally a 4 hour drive that took me 9. That was the first time ever I was truly worried about not being able to make it back home. Freezing rain and snow on top was a horrible combination.
