    Eating CROW

Talk about what a difference a year makes, Wow. Well I called Jimmy Johnson a cheater(which he was) and I said that Kasey Kaine was a clean driver(which he is) But it looks like I have to eat some crow. MMMMMMMMMM it's not so bad. (Yuck)
Well Kasey got caught with Holes drilled in the Body of his car and will pay a price for that. I guess the temptation is greater that I thought.
Well Good luck to all the NASCAR fans and may the Fastest and Best Car and Man win (Kasey Kaine) LOL
    Keep Making that Sawdust.

Not only Kasey Kahne but Mike Waltrip intake maniforld, Matt Kenseth, and probabaly a few more before it is all over. Been going since NASCAR was invented. 2 of the biggest were Larry McReynolds and Jeff Hamond. Gary Nelson head of NASCAR Technical inspection was the Biggest. The have all been caught including Richard Petty, oversize engine, Rusty Wallace illegal head, Richard Childress/Dale Earnhardt AJ Foyt, nitros oxide. It is called the competitive edge. You make rule we will find the gray area and find away around it. What about Corked Bats, Spitball, and Stickum in Football. Almost every race someone get caught. When I was actively involved. We doctored the tires, the fuel, and any thing else we could get away with. It is not right but it is part of the game. Back in the 60's and 70's you should have seen what went on in NASCAR with the big 3 factory team. Ever see a channeled 65 Ford or a 7/8 size chevy chevelle that fit the templates? The bigger the race or the tighter the competition the more rule bending. Jeff Gordon/Ray Everingham were accused of doctoring tires at one time, never was proven or made public but NASCAR impounded all their tires on weekend. Know how to get good fuel mileage in a stock car? run a 50ft. of extra 1/2" fuel line, been done ask Darrell Waltrip.

That is one of the things I like about the NHRA. Get caught cheating it isn't a fine and "see ya at the next race, Bubba". The official reaction is a fine and little time (A year or more) to study and learn the rules. And it isn't just the driver or crew chief that gets suspended, it's the whole team, owners, and sponsors.

The Dodge boys got caught running nitrous in pro stock several years ago. Officials gave them 5 years to think about it.

Yea I know all about cheating. I did it back in the 70's with my 66 Charger when I raced it at the drag strip. The engine I had in the car was a HP383, but the stampings on the block said it was a Golden Commando 361. I never got caught and won every week in K/Stock,Auto class. I even fooled the tech soooo much that he had his tech books there every week and scratching his head. Anyway It's the ones that don't get caught that usually cheat better. LOL
I was big into Dirt track racing and the big event for us was the Schaffer 100 at Syracuse ,New York Fair grounds in early Oct. One year a drive named Gary Baloo won the race by so much he could have had three hot dogs and a keg before the second place car took the cheater. He passed tech inspection and got the race.
Later on in years he was interviewed and said they (tech guys) were so interested in the body shape that they never even saw the Nitros Liines and bottle hidden in the frame. The car is now at the car museum in Canadagua N.Y. Oh yea it was called The Bat Mobile.
        Thanks Guys

I'm a Jimmie Johnson fan I'll admit up front.

Working in the gray area, you pick the sport / job / taxes / driving / etc. is one thing. Flat out doing something that is illegal is wrong.

The Richard Petty Car with an over-sized engine - Wrong (and they gave him the win anyways WRONG!!!!!!!!!).
The car 7/8 it's size (we now have templates because of it) is wrong.
Kasey Kaine - holes in wheel well - Gray area (NASCAR not even sure yet what they would do- help/hurt) book does not say you can or cannot do it.
Getting parts (correct ones according to rule book) to behave opposite they are designed to do - genius (Jimmie Johnson's Crew Chief, 2005)
          Ric

Plan for the worst, hope for the best!
