    Love vs Hate

    I am sitting here with my beer and it occurred to me that you can define love and hate exactly the same. Love (or my definition of it anyway) is the willingness to put the well-being of another person before your own. If you think about it, true hate is defined exactly the same way. The difference is of course with love you want to sacrifice your well-being for the good of another and with hate you want to sacrifice your well-being to bring harm to another. I'm gettin' off the soapbox now. I need another beer anyway.

                              I suppose the "passion" portion of the equation is similar on both sides, but the intent sure is different. Perhaps lack of passion is why God doesn't like the luke warm of heart...no fuel to work with.

                                  Actually beer drinking has helped to induce many philosohical enlightenments as well as moments of perfect clarity and streaks of shear intellectual genious in myself at times.
                                  This is why I drink far less than I used to. It seems too much thinking is very bad for my head the next morning and is also detrimental to memory cells cause I can't remember any of that smart stuff from the night before. My life lesson learned? Think in moderation.
