    Why I Love This Place

I was just reading the thread on fixing a sloppy M&T. It really showcases the one of the most interesting aspects of this site. I really enjoy reading all of the different ways a problem can be attacked. Sometimes I learn. Sometimes I laugh. The ones I really enjoy are the responses that make you shrugged your shoulders and slap your forehead while thinking, "Darn! That's so obvious! Why don't I ever think of something like that?"

So on the eve of a new year, I thank all of you for the lessons, the humor, the civilized arguements, and the friendly encouraging word. I hope each and everyone of you has a happy and healthy new year.

Here you are again, up before me, or just haven't gone to sleep yet, making me read the posts in the middle of the night. You should change your screen name to "Night Owl".

We could have a discussion of what a "civilized argument" really is. A real eyebrow raiser topic would be the "innocent until proven guilty" theory. But hey, not tonight, it's almost New Years Eve.

BTW, it's our practice that we don't go on the road at all New Years Eve. I don't think law enforcement looks forward to this holiday. It's got to be one of those "busy" nights.

As for WW'ing, this a great site, with an incredible knowledge base, open for business 24 hrs a day. Much more theraputic than my psychoanalyst. I look forward to all the input. Somehow we've got to get the die hard lurkers to start posting.

    Anyway, happy New Year.

        My thoughts

As a newbee with very limited experience here, I'm impressed with the level of knowledge and civility shown here.

As a sailboat racer I frequent another BB which deals with that sport and the nastiness, insults and general bad behavior there often overshadows the gems of knowledge that I find.

I hope to be able to continue my education here and wish everyone a healthy and above all peaceful New Year.

        Cheers,

        MikeR

I've been a die hard lurker for over a year now, with very few postings. I check this site at least once a day because I consider this site a vey good learning experience. I too am impressed with the civility of the posters and with the vast knowledge base. Happy New Year everyone!

I can only repeat what so many of you here have already said.

I stumbled across this site while trying to decide what TS would best suit my needs/capabilities, and the decision was probably greatly influenced by the family here.

I've learned more lurking here than ever expected, and got the impression following all the threads that nearly every contributor had met & known each other personally for years (unheard of in most forums).

Can't say enough about the way multiple approaches are presented & accepted by all, and look forward to more in the future.

To ALL, thanks, and a very Happy and prosperous New Year in 2007!!
              Ken W.

Where else can you have a group that you consider friends (many whom you have never met but are on your christmas and birthday list).

Have a Happy and Safe New Year to all here.
