This conversation is pretty interesting in the fact that I make mistakes all the time. Honestly I just realized why my bandsaw is out of plane (Upon taking off the top wheel and thinking wow, I should screw it all the way into the bracket,(meanwhile it was factory set to be out a little to be in plane). I start to get mad, especially when mis-cuts on that piece you have no replacement for, etc. And I'm like why do I even do this ? I thought this is supposed to be fun, but at times it stresses me out....lol....Not sure what to say except that I can relate totally. I have also pulled apart a project or 2. I usually come back with someone way to recover but at the time so frustrating.

I have no solutions to the problem but to not mess up....lol...

I stopped golfing for this very reason. As a pretty decent golfer (low 80s with some 70s thrown in) I would double/triple bogey the first hole then feel my whole day was wasted and want to walk off. Since I was only golfing about 1 time a week, my logic was that I just wasted all week practicing too. It may be just people's personality type in that they suffer from self esteem issues so that they become angry at anything less than perfection. When things are going well, they're happy go lucky but heap a little self induced adversity on their shoulders and the tempeture will rise.

Much as I hate to admit it, I do have a pretty short temper that I lose too often for no apparent reason. I don't throw objects or take swings at anyone, but I can get pretty nasty at the moment. However this does bring to mind something that happened to me several years back as a result of being distracted and in a hurry at the same time.

I'm a pilot and in this case, I was trying to get away to our vacation home for the weekend (my wife had driven up). Forgot airplane key, so had to drive home and get it. Forgot something else in the process of untying and preflighting. Then after I'd gassed up and was preparing to taxi away from the fuel pump, a pilot standing nearby noticed that I had forgotten to put the cap on the fuel tank and started waving at me. At that point I decided I was a danger to myself and called it a day. Tied the plane back down, then called my wife to tell her I'd be up in the morning when my head was back on straight.

Temper hasn't improved, but I now stay on the ground or put the tools down when I know my mind isn't right for whatever reason.

Had a friend take off without a cap. The tank siphoned out pretty quick. He said it was a good thing that the other wing was full. When dealing with things where mistakes can kill or maim, sometime you just have to walk away for a bit. Wish more people followed that practice when attempting to drive a lethal weapon.
